To keep their homes in an immaculate state, most women opt for store-bought cleaners and deodorizers, such as air-fresheners or scented candles. However, these scented products are often laden with harsh chemicals that can do more harm than good. In fact, there’s been mounting evidence that inhaling these scents can cause headaches, dizziness as well as respiratory issues.
If you want to protect your and your family’s health, but still make your house smell fresher than ever, try some natural alternatives as the ones we recommend here.
The video below explains how to create quick, easy, and inexpensive DIY air fresheners. Don’t miss out on this awesome tutorial as it will save you money, but more importantly protect your health.
There are several things you’ll need to complete this project – an empty candle container, a mason jar with a tin lid, a screwdriver, hammer, fork, baking soda, and some essential oil.
For project n.1, start with your empty candle holder. You should clean it out thoroughly using hot water and soap so that all the labels come off.
The next step is to fill about a quarter of the jar with baking soda, which you sprinkle with about 8-10 drops of an essential oil of your choice. Mix the ingredients with a fork to blend well. Alternatively, you can place a tea candle in the middle. This DIY air freshener is ideal for your bathroom or bedroom.
For project n.2, tighten the lid on the Mason jar. Then make five diamond-shaped holes on the lid using a screwdriver and a hammer. Proceed with the same process as with project 1.
In the end, tighten the lid back on. This slow-release air freshener can be perfect for any room in your house.
